An Unwelcome Guest

It can hit hard
And very suddenly
The air gets thick, oppressive
Suffocating you
Dominating you
Like an invisible hand
Around your throat
And the loneliness always comes back to visit
Like an unwelcome guest
With a key to your back door

It will find you
Curled up in a corner
Lost, frightful
But the house is gone
Everything is gone
For all the countless humans
For all of their screaming
For all of their religion
And their justice
And their polite nods
You are alone

There are no more corners
To hide in
Just infinite nothingness
And you

  1. Loneliness is a terrible thing. :( I hope you know you can still talk to me if you want to. Please just try to talk to sómebody when you feel like this.
